Locate Your Equipment
First, go ahead and locate your equipment.
To get started, find your modlet(s) and corresponding thermostat remote(s). You may also have a Gateway (either Ethernet or USB).
Next, select one of the following choices:
-
Connect Your USB Gateway
Great! You have a USB Gateway. Begin by inserting your USB Gateway into an open port in your computer.
Verify the modlet software is installed on your computer.
PC: Start Menu > All Programs > Modlet Software > Modlet Software
Mac: Finder > Applications > ThinkEco > Modlet Manager
Connect Your Ethernet Gateway
Alright! You have an Ethernet Gateway. Start by locating your Ethernet cable to connect the Gateway's WAN port to your router.
Now plug the ThinkEco Gateway into the outlet closest to your router. Once the Gateway has power the lights will come on and the gateway will automatically connect to the modlets in your home.
-
Plug In Your Modlet BN(s)
Great, you're halfway there! Now pick a Modlet BN to plug in. If you have multiple, choose one to start.
Plug the modlet into an outlet near your window AC, and plug your AC unit into the other end of the modlet. This will automatically reconnect this modlet with your Gateway and mymodlet.com account.
If you see a red ring spinning on your modlet BN, follow these steps to rejoin the modlet.
-
Join Your Thermostat Remote
The remaining piece of equipment should be your smartAC thermostat remote.
Go ahead and press the power button on the Thermostat Remote. This should cause the plugged-in modlet "click" on/off. (If you have multiple smartAC kits, you'll know you have the right remote if you hear the click when you press the power button.)
If your Thermostat Remote displays an "X" on the screen, follow the steps to rejoin the remote here.
-
Last step! Your account
Sign in to your account on mymodlet.com and select the coolNYC Dashboard tab. Each of your smartACs will display a connected Gateway, Modlet and Thermostat Remote. If one of the smartAC Kits is missing from this page, your Thermostat Remote is not connected.
In the Temperature column you will see the Current and Target temperature for each SmartAC kit. If the kit is not connected, click on the "Why" link to see the troubleshooting steps.
