After submitting your application, you should have received an email with your confirmation number, which you can use to check the status of your application and update information if needed. The coolNYC program will verify your eligibility for the program, which is based on your responses to the enrollment form and requires a valid Con Edison account number. If you don't receive an electricity bill, we will do our best to match your building's account number by using your home address. You'll receive an email from us letting you know if we need more information or if your application has been verified. If you signed up to try a smartAC kit, your smartAC kits will be shipped to you soon afterwards.

The coolNYC program was oversubscribed last year, which is likely why you did not receive a kit. This year, the coolNYC program has 3 times as many smartAC kits available for New Yorkers to borrow. You can also purchase your own smartAC kit and join the coolNYC community to earn rewards.

Did you know that there are over 6 million window air conditioners in New York City? On very hot days, all these ACs can put strain on our electric grid. When you participate in a coolNYC Event, you join a community of New Yorkers working together to keep everyone cool this summer.

coolNYC uses coolPoints, a currency that is earned through the coolNYC rewards platform. coolPoints can be redeemed for gift cards at a variety of stores and can be used for entries into competitions, where you can get chances to win even bigger prizes. To view and manage your coolPoints, log into your rewards account at points.coolNYCprogram.com. Every 1,000 coolPoints is worth $1. Your coolPoints must be redeemed by December 31 of the calendar year they were earned or they will expire.
